According to reports this morning and from a reliable source in Italy, Chelsea have agreed to sell Juan Cuadrado literally months after having signed from Fiorentina in January.
There has been plenty of conjecture and opinion on the Colombian but it's fair to say he hasn't been up to the required standard to at least provide competition for places amongst the squad.
According to Guglielmo Cannavale and his Twitter feed below, a meeting is due to happen within days between Jose Mourinho and the Cuadrado's agent.
It's always disappointing to see players come here and fail to live up to expectations for one reason or another. For me personally, I feel that he hasn't got used to the pace of our game and just how physical it is. Whenever he picked up the ball he lacked confidence to really drive at defenders until the last game of the season against Sunderland! Most of the time he would turn and play the ball backwards.
I cannot help but feel that Jose Mourinho has decided (if this report is correct) to cash in on Cuadrado to bolster our finances as we prepare to bring someone into the club who will command a regular start in the wide area on the opposite side to Eden Hazard.
It's a shame for Cuadrado but I guess some things are just not meant to be!
