Let's forget Gareth Bale to Chelsea for the time being and focus on two other attacking midfielders being linked with Chelsea, Antoine Griezmann of Atletico and Pedro of Barcelona.
We read and are still reading plenty of report and speculation of these two (especially Antoine Griezmann) on a daily basis. With one being half the price of the other, I am asking the Chelsea fan reading this article who you would prefer us to sign?
Now before you answer that question above, I want you to think about two players who have been sold on at Chelsea in Juan Mata and Kevin DeBruyne. Both of those players have fantastic individual ability and can conjur up moments that win matches. Both have had a level of success with the clubs they are playing at now but that's not with Chelsea and there was a simple reason for that - workrate!
This is why I am asking you to think before you make that decision in your head and hopefully, would add it to the list of comments below.
For me, in my opinion, I would be keen for Chelsea to spend roughly £22m on Barcelona's winger Pedro. He is still only 27, he has been part of that Barcelona squad that had become arguably the best we have ever seen under Pep Guardiola and he is prepared to work hard all over the pitch. That's key for Mourinho.
I personally do not see that in Antoine Griezmann. Granted, going forward he would offer the team alot and also scores goals but we had that with the two players I mentioned above that we have sold. Griezmann is only 24 years old but would cost Chelsea more than double what it would to sign Pedro.
I am a big, big fan of Pedro and it's clear he struggles to break into the Barcelona first team these days now that Lionel Messi has been forced out wide on the right hand side to accommodate Luis Suarez with Neymar wide left.
Given the chance to come to Chelsea to play under Mourinho I believe that both would jump at the chance. I just hope that it's Pedro that comes if there is real substance in the reports.
