Juan Cuadrado hasn't had the best of starts to his Chelsea career having started only four games under Jose Mourinho since his £26.1m move from Fiorentina in January. As a result, Inter Milan are reportedly offering him a return to Serie A this summer.
I personally think that Cuadrado gave us his best performance in the last game of the season against Sunderland and it was Cuadrado's skill that won us the penalty to level the game at 1-1. You have to admit however that he hasn't been up to speed with our League up to that point.
Only recently the player himself had spoken of a slow start to his Chelsea career and then received backing from an international team-mate who is convinced that given the chance, we will see the best of Cuadrado but I am not so sure on this one!
So what of Inter Milan's "interest"? Well it's believed that Roberto Mancini wants him and has identified him as one of his main targets this summer. It's being reported that he would also consider taking Cuadrado on loan for a season with a view to making the move permanent next summer and I just wonder if this is something Chelsea would entertain?
Having paid £26.1m for him back in January and more or less having to admit defeat to let him go either way would be a slight embarrassment for the club. I guess with any foreign player coming into the Premier League you always take a chance that they will arrive and settle down quickly. He looks as though he has settled into the squad with everyone but it's the pace and physicality of our game that has struggled with. Again, he would get used to it given time to play.
So what do you people think of Cuadrado and what you have seen of him so far? Do you believe he is part and parcel of Jose Mourinho's plans for next season and we will see much more of him or do you think that the interest from Inter Milan is something that is in the best interests for all concerned?
Let's wait and see what happens on this one!
