REPORTS: Chelsea monitoring Jordan Henderson's contract situation at Liverpool!

It's normally in the summer transfer window that we read ridiculous rumours but it seems that silly season has started already! We have woken up this morning to reports that Jordan Henderson has turned down a new contract at Liverpool worth £80,000 per week and that Chelsea are "monitoring" the situation.

Now I for one am NOT a Henderson fan. Granted he works hard but lets be honest, that's about it. I still personally believe that any England side that relies on Henderson in their midfield should be considered a laughing stock.

In addition, for someone of his ability, I would have bitten Liverpool's hand off to accept £80,000 per week because I cannot see him getting much better elsewhere.

So to the report that appeared in the Daily Star and it claims that Chelsea are interested in Henderson but I sincerely hope that this article is literally clutching at straws. Would Jordan Henderson get into our Chelsea team now? Of course not!

I also believe that we are going to see a mass exodus now at Liverpool after they have blown their chances of finishing inside the top four despite their HUGE outlay back in the summer. Brendan Rodgers bought crap and they have suffered because of it. As a result we read reports of player unrest and a meeting called at Melwood to sort things out - which has subsequently been denied by Rodgers this morning.

Am I wrong here about Henderson? Do you agree with me or believe that I have underrated him as a footballer and that he could fit in and do well at Stamford Bridge?

The only positive I can see in the deal for Mourinho is that he would have a willing worker next to Nemanja Matic if he decides that paying £74m for Paul Pogba is too much!
