Medical passed - deal done. Who is Nathan Allan de Souza (Nathan)?

Chelsea are on the verge of finalising their first new signing ahead of the summer as Nathan Allan de Souza, a 19 year-old Brazilian "Wonderkid" flew into Heathrow yesterday to complete a medical and finalise a move for a fee believed to be around £4.5m.

With the deal expected to be formally announced later today, I wanted to know more about the player who is widely tipped to be the next big thing from Brazil and how come Chelsea have been able to get him for what appears to be an absolute steal?

Well according to reports, the player who has recently broken into the Atletico Paranaense first team, the player has been in a serious contract dispute with the club and that has enabled Chelsea to pounce for a player they had noticed in the World Under 17 Championships two seasons ago.

Described as a "dazzling attacking midfielder", Nathan can also play as a second striker which as we know in this day an age, is a huge benefit in the modern game.

The problem we will have is that he will struggle to obtain a work permit so we can expect him to be loaned out next season in order to aid his development.

As you will see from the Video below, you can see why he caught the attention of the Chelsea Scouts two years ago and it looks as though he has taken that form into first team action in Brazil.

A signing for the future? It looks as though for the next couple of years that will be the case and some people will argue whether or not the deal is right for him. You cannot deny the obvious talent he has and fingers crossed he will get the chance to play for Chelsea in the not too distant future.
