Without question, Chelsea's win over Manchester United has virtually handed them the title. It wasn't our best performance but as David Moyes knows, Football has turned into a results business and that's exactly what Jose Mourinho and his players delivered!
I have to state on record that I thought Manchester United were excellent on the day and what a difference to earlier in the season. With the players they had injured or on the bench, they still (to their credit) dominated the ball. Make no mistake, this team will be challenging us next season!
Back to the point and the fact that we took three points in our biggest game of the season so far. It was a typical Jose Mourinho performance wasn't it. Sit tight, negate the space, deal with the oppositions threat and then play to our strengths on the counter attack and it worked like clockwork!
As for our goal? What more can you say? A fantastic pass from Oscar to Hazard and the Belgian does the rest as he has done for the majority of the season! We hit United right where it hurts and make them pay for not taking the chances they had created themselves. How Wayne Rooney missed from a Luke Shaw (how impressive was he by the way!) pull back in the first half to the edge of the box; I will never know!
United fans will also point out the fact that Radamel Falcao hit the post in the second half but in response I would like to add that Eden Hazard literally missed a tap-in from a deflected Didier Drogba effort that had evaded De Gea.
That's nine wins and three draws from our last twelve games and you have to hand it to the players, the manager and his technical staff. Chelsea know exactly what it takes to win the big games, to sit tight knowing they will get their own chances with the quality we have in the final third.
I thought Kurt Zouma did ever so well again in the holding role. Think of the influence Maroune Fellaini had in the game - nothing really and that's credit to him.
As I said, the way the game has changed with the riches on offer, it has turned into a results business as David Moyes and others have found out at their cost. Louis Van Gaal and anyone else can moan about the way we played but it's what goes down in the record books that counts. Would Manchester United fans moan and complain if they had played the same way and won the game 1-0?
With that victory we now head to Arsenal needing just two more wins (if we beat them) or eight points for the title. We have only lost two games all season and it would be ridiculous for Chelsea to throw this away now. We are confident, we know how to win and we know that the Premier League title is in our grasp.
What a massive three points that was on Saturday against Manchester United!
