SILVA: "We are better equipped than last year to beat Chelsea."

Thiago Silva has spoken ahead of our crunch game at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night and believes that PSG are better equipped to beat us this time around.

He said:

“We are better equipped than last year to beat Chelsea. Even if you look at the game in Paris, we were the better team no doubt.

If it was not for an unbelievable performance from their goalkeeper (Thibaut Courtois) we would have won the game and would be travelling to London with the lead, we must take heart from that.”

Granted, they WERE the better team three weeks ago but despite throwing everything at us, they did NOT win the game.

Granted, they may be better equipped this season compared to last but Silva has to also acknowledge that Chelsea have taken a step forward since last season and we have a much better, balanced team.

Although starved of any real service in Paris, Diego Costa is something both he and David Luiz will have to contend with and I predict we will see Costa much more involved in this leg.

Chelsea's approach to the game will be different compared to Paris three weeks ago. We went there with a game plan which was to not lose the game and if possible to nick and away goal. We did exactly that and PSG come into this game knowing that they HAVE TO score against us.

The longer the game goes on without a goal, the more open PSG will become as they look to breakthrough our defence. It's at times such as these that Chelsea can become very, very dangerous.

I really cannot wait for the game. Then we will see just who is better equipped to move into the next stage of the competition!
