After constant comment and opinion being said or written about what happened the other night, the past four days has been tedious to say the least. Criticism aimed at Chelsea from all quarters, Jose Mourinho and his players MUST react in a positive way and it would be foolish for anyone to think that will not happen this afternoon!
Jose Mourinho kept his counsel after the game (and rightly so) because he wanted to remain calm, watch the game back when he got home first, to then meet his players on Thursday and have a meeting to clear the air and to find out what went wrong.
You only have to look back at our double winning season under Carlo Ancelotti back in the 2009-2010 season to remember what happened at the club after a similar meeting was called. Back then after a disappointing result, the players re-grouped and stormed the Premier League and FA Cup.
I am 100% certain that is what is about to happen at Chelsea starting this afternoon because let's face it, we hardly ever see a Jose Mourinho side face disappointment for two matches in a row.
In addition to their own motivation after PSG, Chelsea have seen Manchester City open the door to the title even further with defeat at Burnley last night. Jose and his players know that eight wins starting this afternoon (or even just seven) will land the title.
It's very easy to criticise the manager and his players but you have to have a sense or realism here. Look at us last season we were lacking in certain areas and it cost us. Before the season started if anyone offered you ONE trophy to win, the majority would have said this season the Premier League.
We have won the League Cup and if we can add the Premier League title this year, that would be an amazing achievement despite the disappointments of the Champions League and FA Cup.
Chelsea under Jose Mourinho WILL regroup and they will go again. All of our efforts now are focused on the title and as I said previously, it would be very, very foolish to write off Jose Mourinho and the players.
We all expect a reaction this afternoon and I believe we will get exactly that to move eight points clear in the title race!
Same old same old.......
ReplyDeleteI hope you are correct. Watching the Southampton game some key players are going through a rough patch. Matic is not the force he was. Fabregas loses the ball too easily. Hazard runs into traffic jams. Ramires passes too often to the opposing team. Wiilian goes nowhere and what has happened to the great talent that was Oscar, he used to have a lethal shot? It is going to be a tight finish with Arsenal on great form at the moment.
