Chelsea take on Aston Villa this afternoon as first meets second in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge. All we need at the moment is another three points with a clean sheet as an additional bonus!
For some reason, Chelsea simply cannot stop conceding goals and it's a real concern of mine. Yes we are scoring plenty, but we must work harder to ensure we are rock solid at the back and today is another chance to put things right.
After the boss made nine changes to his starting line up to face Bolton in midweek, every single one of those players is due to return to the side apart from Ramires who faces a spell on the sidelines with a muscular injury.
So, expect the regularly selected back four in place in front of Courtois in goal. Ivanovic, Cahill, JT and Azpilicueta are all expected to return. In Midfield, Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic will return and will play as the deeper midfield two.
As part of our attacking midfield, it will be interesting to see if both Oscar and Andre Schurrle are selected after featuring heavily against Bolton. Eden Hazard and Willian are due to start today with possibly Oscar playing as the number ten.
Up front, Diego Costa starts as confirmed by the manager with Remy and Drogba both on the bench.
Thinking about Jose's words in the press conference yesterday, he spoke of selecting "a team good enough to play Aston Villa" so I just wonder if we could see Filipe Luis start at left back today with Azpilicueta on the right?
With Sporting coming up in midweek, ahead of Arsenal next weekend, it's a chance for everyone in the squad to get some first team football with two big wins giving us confidence ahead of the North London side.
This afternoon is no easy game however, as we have seen many times the difficulty we seem to face when we play Villa for the most part. The game last season at Villa Park is still fresh in our minds and was one of the key games that cost us the title.
You can be sure that Jose Mourinho and the players are going to be right up for this one, to ensure we take three points in a good performance. It's games such as these that you need to ensure you win, we cannot afford to drop points.
I fully expect Chelsea to win this one by two or even three goals this afternoon. For that to happen, we need Fabregas and Hazard to be on their game and for Diego Costa to continue exactly what he has been doing this season - scoring goals.
Come on Chelsea, get out there and deliver the result, the performance and the clean sheet we are all looking for!
