OPINION: What have you thought of our Pre Season?

Tomorrow night at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea complete their pre season preparations with a game against Real Sociedad, the first home pre season game in eight years. I just wondered what you have thought of our pre season so far?

As with every club, it's been difficult to manage for Jose Mourinho and his technical staff due to different players coming back to training at different moments. As we have seen, you look at the team that travelled to Kingston to play AFC Wimbledon a couple of weeks ago to the side that played last night to see just how they have had to manage our preparations.

In those early weeks Izzy Brown, Jeremie Boga and Lewis Baker all impressed with the first team players and of late I have been impressed with Cesc Fabregas, Andre Schurrle, Nemanja Matic and Diego Costa.

With Chelsea playing so many games and having different players available at different times, we were always going to see the manager chop and change players from game to game and in some cases, from half to half as we would see a completely different eleven take to the field at half time in those early games.

There are two important aspects of pre season and it's been interesting to see some people on social media get carried away with one or two performances/results.

First and foremost it's all about the players getting fit and gaining match fitness to be ready for Burnley a week today. Secondly it's about the players bonding away from the pitch and getting used to playing with each other on the pitch to gain an understanding. It's already encouraging for me to see the instant understanding Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa seem to have at this early stage.

There have been some really good performances, some not so good, goals scored and goals conceded but you have to remember that players are being given a run out at different stages, playing with different people. You can bet your life this week the manager will work with those players he has in mind to start with to be tight defensively and to be the best they can be in attack!

One thing is for certain just by looking at our squad and the players the manager has to choose from, we look stronger, have a much better balance and Jose looks as though he has plugged the gaps that existed last season.
