It has been a while since the last confirmation of a loan move and now we have 2 more to report on. The players are slowly getting back into the pre season routine and returning from the World Cup so we can expect to see more loan moves confirmed as time moves on.
Today has seen confirmation from the players themselves although with no confirmation from Chelsea that both Mario Pasalic and Kenneth Omeruo will be spending next season away from Chelsea again.
It was not too long ago that we was reporting the official signing of 19 year old midfielder Mario Pasalic and he has already found himself out on loan which to be fair was fully expected. In the coming season Mario will have the opportunity to test him in one of the top leagues in Europe in La Liga as he joins Elche for the season.
Elche has been on the lookout for Chelsea loan players and it may be that Pasalic will not be the only Chelsea player to end up there before the transfer window is done with. It will be a step up for Pasalic after playing in the Croatian league up until this summer. The club clearly feel he is capable of the step up and now it is up to the player to make sure he plays regular football and earns his place.
The second loan is Kenneth Omeruo who confirmed on his Instagram page that he will returning this season to Middlesbrough. Having had a solid World Cup with Nigeria there was the possibility of him playing at a higher level, either in the Premier League or in one of the other top European Leagues but it seems that Omeruo has decided to return to the club where he had a decent season last time out and get the football that he needs.
What we do not know yet is the terms of his loan, he may stay there for the first half of the season and then look to step up a level after that or he may spend the whole season there. It is definitely a good acquisition for Middlesbrough and for Omeruo a chance to play games and to prove himself to be a top Championship player to look at moving himself forward with his development.
Keep up with all the loan moves here on Chelsea Daft.
