Mario Pasalic Signs

Today saw Chelsea finally confirm the signing of 19 year old Croatian attacking midfielder Mario Pasalic. A deal had been confirmed since January but has not been officially confirmed until now. It is another signing for the future for Chelsea as they continue to look for the best young talents around.

As with another couple of young Chelsea players Mario was also part of his national teams provisional squad for the World Cup but just missed out. Mario will immediately join in with first team training sessions until he eventually goes out on loan.

He will have to go out on loan as he is not automatically eligible for a work permit and having said that even if he was it is unlikely that he would have stayed at Chelsea as he is not ready for our first team and too good to be playing in our development sides.

A talented midfielder with a decent eye for goal Mario will have no shortage of suitors for a loan club for the coming season. There is of course the obvious destination of Vitesse but there will be other clubs who would like to take him in the Bundesliga which could prove more profitable for the young man.

As with the second half of last season I will be covering Pasalic's development and performances in the coming season and I am sure it will be a very interesting season for the young man who seems to going from strength to strength in his development and you can keep up with him as always here at Chelsea Daft.
