With plenty of speculation around on almost a daily basis as to who Chelsea are going to sign, could this be Jose Mourinho's first choice starting eleven next season?
In the coming days, Chelsea are expected to make as many as FOUR signings. Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Tiago and Filipe Luis are all expected to sign (if reports are to be believed) and I just wondered how our strongest eleven would line up.
I personally believe the signing of Fabregas would indicate a switch in formation for Mourinho to revert back to 4-3-3 to accommodate him as I do not believe he would be considered in one of the attacking three areas and isn't suited to playing a deeper holding role.
For Mourinho to get the benefit of Fabregas, he needs to play him in the same role as Frank Lampard had when he first came to manage the club. Playing with the freedom to push forward but also to dominate and dictate the game in midfield is what Fabregas is all about and it's my opinion that he would flourish in the role.
If all these reports and opinions are to be believed, Thibaut Courtois is to return to Chelsea as our new number one in goal with Petr Cech being sold so he starts.
Cesar Azpilicueta reverts back to his favoured position at right back in place of Branislav Ivanovic with the new signing Filipe Luis at left back, both either side of John Terry and Gary Cahill.
Nemanja Matic will start in the holding role and I believe Mourinho will deploy Ramires as the other midfielder with licence to get up and down alongside Fabregas.
Eden Hazard starts wide left and Willian wide right with Diego Costa leading the forward line.
So what do you think? Is that our strongest eleven and would that team have a chance of silverware next season?
