There have been many disappointments in the World Cup so far with England being the obvious one for me but in addition it has to be the elimination of the current holders Spain. Cesc Fabregas has had a tough time.
Fabregas has hardly featured in the two games that Spain have lost and have seen themselves knocked out at the first stage. Coming in as a bit part player as Vicente Del Bosque watched his side get thumped 1-5 to Holland followed up with a 0-2 defeat to Chile, you could understand his disappointment.
Now I'm not a professional footballer but I can imagine that for those players who spent at least 2-3 weeks away with their national sides to not either be given any playing time or very little, you could become quite disillusioned with the whole situation.
As you would have seen by now over the course of the weekend this happened:
As Del Bosque prepares the team for their final game tomorrow, he takes a training session and looks like making wholesale changes to his starting eleven. You will notice one team is wearing pink bibs. Fabregas was part of the team wearing the bibs which seems to be an indication of those players who WILL start.
Half way through the session, you have seen Del Bosque criticise Fabregas and tell him to swap his pink bib over to Xabi Alonso and expells him from the rest of the training session!
It's believed that he didn't like the players attitude to training and gave an indication that he felt he was lazy. I think as I said earlier, fed up and pissed off probably would be correct but it's something that shouldn't be happening. Fabregas needs to remain professional.
As Spain take on Australia in one hour from now, it will be interesting to see if Fabregas plays any part in the game? You can check for top sports betting sites - online sportsbook reviews for in play odds on Spain and Fabregas on their Goal Markets. Judging by what's happened, you would get fantastic odds against that happening!
I just hope that he bucks his ideas up by the time he gets to pre season with Mourinho because our manager won't stand for any of it!
