I question anyone who has watched Luka Modric perform in the Real Madrid side of late and tell me that you have not been more than impressed after the difficult start he had there.
Signed by Jose Mourinho for £33m two summers ago, Modric had a nightmare start to his time there and was even voted by supporters as one of their worst signings.
This season, under Carlo Ancelotti and playing as one of the holding midfielders, Modric has been outstanding and has played a key part in their season.
So to Chelsea and it's no secret that the manager likes him and if reports are to be believed, Roman Abramovich is also a massive fan. There are indications that Chelsea have made third party enquiries as to the availability of the Croatian, believed to be Mourinho's number one midfield target but Chelsea have been told there is no chance he would be allowed to leave.
After being linked with other players such as Paulinho of Tottenham, I would prefer Modric all day long. In saying that after watching Modric of late, I cannot see Real Madrid entertaining any thought of letting him go.
However, if Carlo Ancelotti wins the Champions League in his first season in Madrid, with the vacancy at Old Trafford still there, I just wonder if he could be tempted to return to England. We keep hearing that Louis Van Gaal will take over but I just wonder.
What do you think of Luka Modric and of a possible link to Chelsea?
