Real Madrid Defender Sergio Ramos has given his opinion on a possible Champions League pairing with Chelsea in the Semi Final draw tomorrow and the potential return of Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu.
He said:
“For us, would be neither a good or a bad thing. We just worry about ourselves, and will wait on the draw. To win the Champions League, you must beat the best teams. Chelsea deserve to be in the semifinals.”
Now, did any of you see the Dortmund v Madrid second leg highlights on Tuesday evening and see just how close Real Madrid came to being knocked out?
In that game Dortmund scored twice in the first half but also missed and whole host of chances to equalise and then take the lead and it should give everyone left in the competition some encouragement heading into the draw.
Take the latest Classico a couple of weeks ago and Real Madrid were outplayed by Barcelona and that spoke volumes for me. If Chelsea are drawn against Sergio Ramos and his Madrid side, you can sit and pick holes in their defensive areas without question.
Xabi Alonso is not a holding, defensive midfielder and Pepe isn't the best defender in the world either. Jose Mourinho would know how to exploit and expose all of their weaknesses.
The Mourinho factor is massive here and for him to take his Chelsea team to go up against Real Madrid over two legs would be something he would really love to do. Mourinho would take all the focus and attention away from his players and become the ringmaster once again.
I have said it before but I will say it again. No one wants to draw Chelsea and Jose Mourinho!
