Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea: Jose Mourinho and his team spoil SKY's Anfield Love-In!

Despite the fact that I had belief that Chelsea could go to Anfield and win this afternoon, everyone thought that Jose Mourinho would field a team that would just roll over. They were wrong! Jose's team delivered the perfect performance and beat Liverpool with goals from Demba Ba and Willian to blow this title race wide open.

The Sky TV coverage beforehand was so biased towards the Anfield side. All the focus was on Liverpool winning their first title for 24 years. The scenes outside the ground with the Liverpool supporters cheering their side into the ground for what they and SKY TV thought would be a simple three points was a demonstration of the same.

The build up to the game and the "special atmosphere" at the ground beforehand, the full length coverage of "You'll never walk alone" and Martin Tyler's bias in his commentary, thank god for Gary Neville who actually tells it how it is.

You would of had the impression that all Liverpool needed to so was turn up to win this one. When Chelsea's team sheet was released it was good to see Tomas Kalas get a start in the team and he hardly put a foot wrong all game.

Jose had made plenty of changes to the side that started in Madrid this past week. Schwarzer started in goal with a back four of Azpilicueta at right back, Ivanovic next to Kalas in the middle and Ashley Cole at left back. Frank Lampard, Nemanja Matic and Mikel played in the midfield with Mohamed Salah, Demba Ba and Andre Schurrle up top.

Jose Mourinho had set the side up to sit deep, negate any space for Liverpool to expose and to hit them on the counter attack and it worked like a treat.

Liverpool pushed forward and probed but never really got into any dangerous areas with clear cut chances against us. Chelsea looked comfortable and always had chances to hit them on the counter attack. When we could, we played the ball up to Demba Ba and played off of him. Similar to the way we played with Torres up top in midweek.

It looked as though we would head into half time all square but then the moment that really changed the game and the title race. A ball is played square to Steven Gerrard and he took his eyes off the ball and his touch as a result was bad. When he tried to recover, he slipped over on the pitch and Demba Ba was off towards goal with the ball. As Mignolet came off his line, he calmly slipped the ball under him to give Jose Mourinho and his team a 1-0 lead.

So as we move into the second half, Liverpool have to take the game to Chelsea and we expect more of the same. Liverpool dominate, Chelsea defend and then look to hit them on the counter attack.

Steven Gerrard looking to make up for his slip up hit four or five long shots that were easy for Schwarzer in goal to deal with. Luis Suarez who spent most of the afternoon complaining at the officials, the Chelsea players or his team mates, than have touches in the final third, had a couple of attempts but nothing of real note. When called upon Schwarzer made some good saves low down but he or Chelsea always looked comfortable.

So then comes the moment that wrapped up the game three minutes into stoppage time. Liverpool pushing men forward have possession and play a ball into the box cleared by Ivanovic. The ball comes outside the box and Danny Sturridge controls it and tries to play a ball inside but is closed down by Nemanja Matic and the ball rolls free. Willian is onto it like a flash and knocks it past the last defender on the half way line to Fernando Torres (a late substitute for Demba Ba and booed by the Liverpool fans when he came on) and we are away.

As Torres approaches the goal, Willian has kept up his run and they have a two on one situation up against Mignolet and Torres calmly plays the ball square to Willian and he slots the ball into the empty net to give Chelsea their second goal and the three points!!

I would like to remind the Liverpool fans and the rest of the football world that this afternoon Chelsea had the following players out for one reason or another or dropped to the bench:

Petr Cech, John Terry, David Luiz, Ramires, Eden Hazard, Oscar, Samuel Eto'o, Willian and Gary Cahill and we still went to Anfield and did a job, shut them out and picked up three points.

I stated to you all this week that you should never underestimate Jose Mourinho and his influence. Whether that is with the press and media or with his tactical approach to games, do not write him or Chelsea off.

This is a results business and you should know by now not to virtually celebrate becoming Champions before you actually are! All I needed to complete my day was the pained and glum look on Jamie Redknapp's face to top it all off!

Apologies Sky TV and the football world for spoiling your obvious "love in" with the Anfield club. Your bias was totally overwhelming this afternoon. Apart from Gary Neville, you were a disgrace and you should never have underestimated Chelsea in this fixture in the first place.

Chelsea delivered a perfect performance and the perfect result to stick a massive two fingers up to those deluded people that believed that Chelsea would just roll over and hand the three points and title advantage to Liverpool.

This was Chelsea's day to start with and now it's Manchester City who have the advantage. As for Chelsea, the focus turns to Wednesday and Atletico in the Champions League semi final.

As for Liverpool and their supporters, they can moan all they like but at the end of the day, this is a results business and you have a long week to come to terms with what happened this afternoon.
