Surprising news yesterday afternoon that Eden Hazard HAS been named in the 20-man squad that travelled to Madrid despite sitting out the morning training session. If he's fit enough to be named in the squad, would you start him tonight?
Before you answer there are plenty of things to think about here. Firstly, we need to ensure that he is physically fit and ready to play. Secondly, we need to think about Liverpool on Sunday and the semi final second leg next week. Thirdly and finally, to put it in simple terms, Chelsea are a different side without him.
So what do we do? What do you think Jose Mourinho should do? Would you start him or look to sit and contain tonight and attack them next week? It's a hard one.
The worse case scenario would be that he plays some part in the game, whether that is from the start or not, and makes his injury worse and he misses the rest of the season. Of course as with anything, he could come through the game without an issue and move on to finish the season.
It's clear now that the Champions League represents the best chance of silverware Chelsea has for this season after blowing the Premier League in recent weeks. With Manchester City winning last night, sitting just a single point behind us with one game in hand, our title dreams are over.
Has what happened on Saturday evening forced the managers hand and now Eden Hazard will start the game?
One thing is for sure, we need Eden Hazard playing for us to be anywhere near our best. When he isn't there, we are not the same attacking force. He makes things happen from nothing as we have seen throughout the season.
So come on, post your comments below. Do you think Eden Hazard should start tonight?
Hazard has only a MINOR injury which has lasted for about eleven days now. From my own point of view, Hazard if fully fit to play ( and will probably start tonight). Mourinho always plays mind games, so his mind game this time is to hide out Hazard from training (as he was reported to be out of training yesterday) and then to give him a shock sart. Just watch out!
