REPOST - Crystal Palace 1-0 Chelsea - Chelsea throw it all away!

Chelsea were beaten this afternoon by Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park and the result officially sees the end of any title hopes we had left after the defeat to Aston Villa!

I haven't seen the game personally and will have to sit and watch it later but it's a result that leaves us all scratching our heads, wondering what the hell has happened!!

Is it the tactics here and at Villa? Is it the players? Has it been the manager and his team selections for games against the teams lower down the table or is it simply a case of the players and everyone connected with the club believing the manager when he said we are not in the title race after all these weeks.

We only have ourselves to blame and it's as simple as that. We cannot expect to take performances away from home such as Everton, Stoke, Newcastle, West Brom, Aston Villa and now Crystal Palace to place us in serious contention for the title, despite other teams losing games around us.

It's all well and good thrashing Arsenal, beating Tottenham, City and Liverpool but you have to make sure that you treat EVERY SINGLE game in the Premier League on its own merits. Every team deserves respect and we have to play with the same levels of intensity that we have that night at the Ethiad and against Arsenal last week!

After the game Gary Cahill said:

"Crystal Palace worked hard and they made it difficult for us. They played a lot of long balls and direct football and we're disappointed with the result.

We have got to keep going but it feels like the end, that it is over. It is massively disappointing and at the end of the game it was a horrible feeling. We have to bounce back, we have only got a few days before we go to Paris." 

Jose Mourinho said:

"Now we have lost our chance of finishing first. Now we depend too much on other results.

Crystal Palace deserved the victory, they fought for their lives. We had good chances and their goalkeeper made some good saves in the first half. But their spirit was stronger, their desire was stronger and their commitment was stronger. That disappoints me, but it's a defeat that we can only blame ourselves for.

Some of our players are not comfortable in these types of matches, like Stoke away, Newcastle away and Everton away. Can I change this? I don't know. My defenders are phenomenal, but in other positions we have players that can be in trouble." 

What do you people think of all this? What do you think of how we have stumbled in recent weeks against the supposed lower league sides?

Tonight I am 100% in agreement with Gary Cahill - It's a horrible feeling!
