Mourinho talks teamwork.

Chelsea last suffered league defeat away at Stoke on 7th December. Our win over Spurs has extended our run to fourteen league games undefeated and you have to admit watching Chelsea, it's all down to teamwork.

We are all still celebrating the victory over Tottenham on Saturday and most of us would have loved our bragging rights at work today however, as we all know, Tottenham were well in the game right up to the penalty and sending off.

Chelsea hadn't played well enough in the first half, Tottenham's surprise team sheet and dominance of the ball had caused us a slight problem with trying to create opportunities ourselves but apart from one moment when Bentaleb latched onto an Adebayor flick on, Chelsea looked being in no danger.

We sit top of the league and have won our past two games convincingly after difficult starts but you have to admit that at the moment, we look solid without the ball and every single player contributes to that.

So with saying that, I just want to take you to a recent interview Jose Mourinho had given. He was asked about individual performances that have taken Chelsea top of the league and he responded by saying:

"The group is more important than the individual. So my initial job is to make the players work for the team, to work for each other, to achieve their individual objectives as a consequence of teamwork."

That is a statement he stands by now and always has done. We all thought the situation with Juan Mata was confusing and couldn't understand how our player of the year wasn't playing but now? Just look at the Chelsea performances both with and without the ball.

Chelsea have conceded just four goals in those fourteen games and that's because of teamwork. Every single players knows their role defensively and if you look at our shape it's 100% better than it was earlier in the season.

People talk of the Mourinho way and it's clear that the Stoke result was the catalyst to forget everything else and to concentrate on our defending.

At times earlier in the season, we had conceded really soft and sloppy goals and as I say, the Stoke game seems to have been the final straw.

Since that day, you can see the work Mourinho and his technical staff have done. You can see that there is a clear understanding through the squad of what has been required from day one.

There was always going to be a period of adjustment with the new manager as there is with anyone but we are now seeing the result of their hard work paying off.

I was watching the game back last night and Gary Neville explained things perfectly during his commentary. He stated that although Chelsea were not playing at their best and Tottenham were dominating the ball, you could see and feel that Mourinho's men were never really in any danger because of the way they are set up without the ball.

He is spot on and no matter who starts you can see every player accept their role and slot straight into the framework of the team.

Everyone works hard for the manager and for their team mates which has been the difference this season.

Let's hope we can continue to do so in our remaining nine league games.
