Chelsea fans would be used to checking the newspapers and various websites on a daily basis to see the latest rumour and speculation. This morning, Fernando Torres is being linked with a move "home".
Ever since Torres made his move to Stamford Bridge, there has been rumour and speculation purely and simply because of two reasons. Firstly, the £50m fee that Chelsea paid Liverpool to sign him and secondly, because of his goals tally compared to that at Anfield. It's something Torres has had to put up with ever since he came here.
Ask Chelsea fans worldwide and it has always been a cause for concern. We have no complaints about his work rate and willingness to put himself about for the team but it's his lack of goals on a regular basis that causes debate and comment after every single game.
We have heard Jose Mourinho openly criticise his strikers for their lack of goals this season and to keep referring to next season being the season that Chelsea are finally considered as title favourites.
Every week, throughout the season, there has been speculation as to who Chelsea are looking to sign to complete the managers puzzle. Plenty of names have been and continue to be linked and it will continue right up to the point that Chelsea announce a deal has been done.
As for the strikers we currently have here and the speculation is the same. Everyone is of the opinion that Demba Ba will be off in the summer, despite recent speculation, Samuel Eto'o only signed a one year contract so I believe he will also leave the club and Romelu Lukaku's future remains in question under the management of Mourinho.
This leaves Torres and just this morning, Torres is being linked with a return to Atletico Madrid the place he started his career, the place he calls "home" and the place he has openly admitted to returning to at some stage to finish his career.
This is where Diego Costa comes in and a possible deal being negotiated in the summer. According to the rumour we have seen, Costa is one name that has been continuously linked with Chelsea.
If these reports have any substance and if Atletico are willing to let the Spanish striker leave the club, it would be a perfect opportunity for Torres to be involved and to seal a return to Madrid.
Atletico would get their former striker and club captain back and Chelsea would get their man in Costa.
Looking from the outside in, it's seems a perfect deal for all parties concerned. As we know though, it's not as simple as that.
For me it's seems like common sense if we ARE interested in signing Diego Costa. We just have to wait and see what happens.
