A full 24 hours before Arsenal and Manchester City play, Chelsea have a chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League with a victory tonight at The Hawthorns. If anything, this game is just as big as our previous two.
Pepe Mel continues to struggle with his West Brom side and they have not tasted victory since he has taken over. Chelsea coming to town is an opportunity to put that right and after the controversy of Stamford Bridge earlier in the season and the reported "Mickey Mouse" bust-up in the tunnel, the home side will be looking to settle the score!
So what of our chances? Well of course we have to go into this game as favourites and you can bet your life Jose Mourinho would have prepared the team fully as to what to expect.
The home crowd will be up, the players will be up for this one and it's important that we start the game well and dominate possession.
I have seen reports that Pepe Mel while with Real Betis, masterminded a 1-0 victory over Jose's Real Madrid that virtually ended their La Liga title reign by keeping Cristano Ronaldo quiet. It looks as though he is planning to do the same with Eden Hazard.
It will be interesting to see just how they try and cope with Hazard tonight. Without question he is one of the in-form players in the League and is playing at the top of his game.
The problem for West Brom is that it's not just Hazard they need to worry about. With the likes of Oscar, Salah, Willian and Schurrle, Mourinho has an abundance of talent to call upon.
With Fernando Torres back in training and available for selection, could Mourinho throw him straight into this one with Man City waiting in the FA Cup on Saturday? I think not personally. In fact we could see Demba Ba handed the start this evening.
I predict Mourinho will select his strongest possible eleven to deliver another important three points and to exert as much pressure on Arsene Wenger and Manuel Pellegrini ahead of tomorrow.
In saying that, here is my predicted Chelsea eleven:
Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Azpilicueta, Matic, Ramires, Willian, Oscar, Hazard and Eto'o.
What do you think of our chances tonight, of West Brom and who you think starts this one?
Carefree & KTBFFH!
Cech
