Chelsea take on Newcastle this afternoon and this is just as big as the Manchester City game for me. The Manchester City result means little if we fail to take three points. I am asking YOU the Chelsea fan reading this post this morning, who YOU think should be named in Jose Mourinho's starting eleven.
There has been plenty of focus on Mohamed Salah and Fernando Torres in recent days. Torres because of his return to training this week although Jose stated that this game is too early for him to be involved, and Salah because of comments made by the manager stating that he is selected.
Now, I am not so sure if that means he is selected in the squad or if he is to start. I personally believe he will be named on the bench and will come on and be involved at some point.
To start with, let's have a look at the eleven players who started against Man City and see if any of those players look like being rested with another game on Tuesday night against West Brom away to come.
The obvious would be Oscar coming back into the side. I cannot see Mourinho adopting the same tactics this afternoon as he did against City. We might see Lampard and Ramires start in the middle once again with Oscar up next to Hazard and Willian or we could see Mikel and Ramires start in the middle.
The good thing about all this is that Mourinho has plenty of options available to him throughout the side now and in all positions.
The team I would start with against Newcastle would be as follows:
Cech, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry(c), Cole, Matic, Lampard, Willian, Oscar, Hazard and Eto'o.
What do you think?
Carefree & KTBFFH!
Cech

Mikel Lampard
Salah Oscar Hazard
Etoo
Good team, I would give Schurrle a start for Willian and definatly keep Matic in the team, he has been fantastic in both his games that he has started. This is a good time to play against Newcastle, Remy banned, no Cabaye and Tiote is injured.
ReplyDelete2-0 Win for Chelsea - Eto'o and Lampard with the goals.
Rest Willian nd bring Salah
ReplyDeleteLet Mikel take Luiz position and bring in Oscar for pivot role
We shld maintain our goal post nd defence line......
