Patrick Bamford gets his chance in the Championship with Derby.

Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford has been making headlines in League One this season with the MK Dons and as a result will now get a chance to show exactly what he can do in the Championship after Chelsea confirmed he will join Derby County on loan for the remainder of the season.

Bamford 20, has scored 16 goals in 29 appearances in the first part of the season for the MK Dons and has really impressed everyone winning the League One player of the month for October.

Now I like what Chelsea are doing with Bamford. It would be a simple solution to allow his current loan deal with the Dons to be extended to the end of the season when it comes to an end on 5th January. However, seeing just how well he has done and the goals he has scored, the club has made the decision to move him up a level to the Championship to work with Steve McClaren at Derby County from 6th January.

Let's hope we see Patrick continue to improve and score goals for the club.
