Chelsea fans around the world, expect an announcement to come from the club very, very soon (even as early as tonight/tomorrow), Juan Mata will sign for Manchester United after Jose Mourinho has accepted the players wish for first team football.
I have had my say on the whole Mata situation on here in my last post, but with Juan Mata missing Chelsea training today amid reports that his representatives are flying into Manchester as early as tonight, I can do little else but post this latest development and ask what are YOU opinions?
We can all now pretty much agree that financial terms have been agreed between the two clubs and now Mata is free to travel to Manchester to meet United with his advisers to thrash out personal terms.
United play Sunderland tonight in their League Cup Semi Final second leg at Old Trafford and expect to see Juan Mata sitting in the stands watching the game!
I am keen to hear from as many Chelsea, Manchester United and football fans in general on the United record transfer deal for Mata?
More on Mata's time here at Chelsea to follow..
Carefree & KTBFFH!
According to Chelsea TV everyone trained minus the injured players.
ReplyDeleteI saw that, then checked out the footage and Mata isn't there! The club cannot state if he isn't there as no official announcements have been made. Expect it to happen either today/tomorrow!
DeleteI really hope it is just a loan deal...i wish so!
DeleteMy first reaction: dumbest move ever. But as I sit here and think about it more, I can't help but roll over something I read another commenter (and I checked for good measure) said yesterday - We don't play United again this season. With that in mind and only concentrating on this season, it looks like a great move for us. Not only do we not have to worry about playing against him, but he could help by making it much harder for City and Arsenal to play against United. The big part I have a problem with is that so far, we have seemingly let him walk away while not really getting anything in return. If we were so keen to keep Mata and really wanted to get Rooney here, why is this even happening? Force them to make a switch or don't take any deal.
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty, I won't really care about this transaction too much (this season) as long as we bring in at least one other top player but I'm not sure that will happen.
good to make 40million and with a replacement in piazon already in the wings who could be player of the dutch league this year shrewd business...
ReplyDeleteChelsea's intention is to launch a big bid for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley in the summer,
DeleteMUFC fan here. Don't think it means much selling to us, as we would be able to buy a good player for £38m+ anyway. PS we did sell you Veron a few years ago remember?
ReplyDeleteVeron was shit and you know it... different story with 2*Player of the year Mata
DeleteHonestly the move doesn't make any sense. Not for Chelsea. We are suddenly thin in the attacking midfielder position. Plus why would we sell them Mata if they refused to sell us Rooney? I feel really sad!!
ReplyDeleteWell pissed off if he leaves, and to the SCUM as well... im too vexed!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMata must not leave...even if, not to a rival!! *#crying
ReplyDeleteit isnt going to happen, moyes wont pay 40 mil for ronaldo never mind mata, we will end up with allana for 15 mil.
ReplyDeleteThx Jose, just the job.Chelsea player of the year, two year`s in a row.Ooh,thats gotta hurt, coming to Utd,just what we need, the creativity of a magician to feed Van the Man and Rooney the Red.He wont be coming to you, when we get 4th place and qualify for the Champions League.
ReplyDeleteRooney the red? Are you stupid? He's handed in a transfer request like twice, third one pending....
DeleteI'm a United fan and it's clear to see Rooney hasn't been a red since about 2010.
DeleteCFC has to be the worst run club on the planet! Dumbest move ever... What happens if one of the preferred Willian or Oscar gets ruled out for a quite a while? No one to call on except probably Schürrle. How can a club let go of 2 quality attacking talents (KDB & Mata) in one transfer window?... Only Chelsea does that! Man utd weren't that dumb to let Rooney join CFC in the summer despite he wanting to leave, sadly our darling Chelsea can't even return the favour by resisting utd's advances... Disgrace!!! Robben, Sturridge, KDB & probably Mata soon... The list continues
ReplyDeleteRobben and KDB wanted to leave, Mata isnt getting playing time and after his reaction to getting subed the other week i think the writing was on the wall and Sturridge only became good once he left Chelsea, while he was with us he was just a selfish player who refused to make a pass and would only shoot so he wasnt what we needed. Chelsea fans must be some of the worst fans in the world, for 7 years we have been wishing Mourinho comes back as now that he is back and has us 2 point off first place, has us in the FA Cup and favorites to reach the quarter finals of the Champions League we are complaining about him. The best manager in the world knows what he is doing and he is moulding this team into the team he wants.
DeleteChelsea fans are some of the best in the world ....... Stopped reading after that
DeleteIt Doesn't Make Any Sense
DeleteSo we are selling Mata and how much did we pay for Willan? Who is nowhere near Mata’s capabilities. And yet we are keeping Willan and selling Mata? Anyone see what I see? Are we shooting ourselves in the foot again? It sure looks like it to me. We just never learn…
Well jose did cry when he didnt get the biggest job in football perhaps its his way of feeling that he had a bit part lol
DeleteJose is a moron. Arsenal helped them out with RVP and now Chelsea are gonna dig them out. Jose's love for United has cost Chelsea our future star. Clown
ReplyDeleteMUFC fan here...will be happy if we pull this off and equally wont be gutted if he doesnt sign for us. Mata is a great player, proven in the EPL at the highest level and any team would be lucky to have him..However, my worry is with the setup at utd. like Neville said, if Moyes is not prepared to alter his formations and philosophy then Mata will flop...If all this news is true however, it might suggest that Moyes is ready to change things and take some risk which is good for the team...#MUFC CFC
ReplyDeleteHere's the difference between United not selling Rooney to Chelsea and Chelsea potentially selling to United. If United had sold Rooney to Chelsea, he would have all but completed your team, making you almost unstoppable. Mata being sold to United won't complete our team, far from it. He could be the catalyst to improvements but we still need a CB, LB, CM and potentially a LM. The effect is far less negative for Chelsea than it would be for United if we sold Rooney.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I have to agree that even so, you'd be mad to let Mata go. However, being a Chelsea fan differs from being a United fan in that you have very little to worry about right now. You've got one of the best managers in the world, maybe the best, and practically unlimited funds to keep including players to a squad which is extremely strong. Mata leaving is unlikely to affect your title hopes and you can be guaranteed the money will be reinvested on a truly world class player.
Its a shame that the fan talking the most sense in a Man U fan.
DeleteAgreed but we all knew this season would be hard but chelsea do not have unlimited funds thanks to the fair play coming in once moyes brings in a new core of his own players we wil be fine so im not worried if the glazers sold tomorrow what position would we be in a fantastic one if abromavic sold what position would Chelsea be in an awful one . This is the start of something awsome thanks chelsea
DeleteYour fellow United fan makes what is arguably the most sensible observation on here and you revert to the "when Abramovich leaves" scenario. Ignoring the likelihood of that happening (you've been waiting for a decade now) could you explain why his leaving would be so "awful"?

ReplyDeleteStupidities from Mourinho.
After the exit of Juan Mata The moron of Mourinho believes other Chelsea players want to be close to him.....mistake Moronho, at the first opportunity players like Luis, Hazard, Azpilcueta, even Oscar will be leaving because nobody will forgot u are responsible for the exit of a really talented and nice player like Mata
I thought Chelsea were experienced, tough negotiators, letting Man U get away with Mata and keeping Rooney proves that they have pulled a good one over Chelsea. Now what? Any replacement coming? How about a striker? Still I suppose £40 million for someone who has been left on the bench is big money????
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, let this be a warning to the likes of Hazard, Oscar and the others Moronho did not buy. Even if you give your best, there is no guarantee of a shirt or that you won't be sold, so why bother. Also, once you see another club that values you, you better take off. Regardless of assurances from Moronho, DO NOT TRUST HIM.
ReplyDeleteI mean really how can you talk nonsense? Do you know that we got Piazon and we signed Traore like a week ago. And Ramires can play wide if it is necessary since we got nemanja now to fill in the spot of ramires pls mata is overated he played good the past two seasons because there was not defense in CFC just offence and no running i am glad he leaves finally that shadow of why the happy one is not playing him will be over.
ReplyDeletejust incase we forget we do still have lamps who can be pushed more to the front again as we have mikel, ramires, matic, luiz to hold the defensive role also ramires is a little useful on the wing and did we forget schurrle who I would like to see get a run in the team still good business but would rather he went abroad...
DeleteLampard who can never align two passes?
DeleteI think with mata heading out chelsea will use that money to buy luke shaw & will cut short moses loan to liverpool & recall him !! With that again we will have a strong squad to compete fr remainder of the season in both epl & ucl !

ReplyDeleteIt's a stupid and tragic deal to sell a player of such quality to our rivals. Even if it's for Rooney, it's a useless deal giving out a young and promising mata In exchange for Rooney approaching his 30s. I'm starting to think Mourinho is trying to fix his personal relationship with the man utd hierarchy at the expense of CFC. With the way he's been talking about man utd in recent days, Mourinho still holds the interest of coaching that club....
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how Man Utd are getting him without any competition. I'd have thought Atletico would have been the obvious move, they need a player like Mata, they're battling for the title, and what better team for Mata to put himself back in the spotlight for Spain? Not to mention that there are a couple of handy players Chelsea could have got themselves, like Costa or Koke either now or in the summer. Really bizarre piece of business, as I don't think Mata is the answer to Utd's problems either. I'm sure he'll be good for them, but they are crying out for a holding midfielder or two, not an attacking midfielder.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe CFC is doing this kind of business with a rival club when they find it difficult to sell Rooney to us. I'm seriously mad at those who sanctioned the deal to a club who hates doing business with rival clubs. I just hope it won't hunt us as RVP did to Arsenal..
ReplyDeleteI understand that Mata has to leave to get game time so his chances of making the World Cup is improved. And getting 40 million is also quite good. But to Man Utd? What happened to the other clubs that showed an interest? Why Man Utd?
ReplyDeletegutted mata 24 years old lampard 36 years old I know who I would get rid of mata player of the year twice on the trot because the majority voted for him and why sell to them of all people rooney will be 29 pushing 30 if we sign him next season don't want another striker coming to the end of his career most man u fans don't seem bothered if rooney left that speaks volumes in it self think this is one mistake yet again
ReplyDeleteIt appears that Chelsea buy at inflated rates and sell cheaply. Compared to amounts being toted for other "wanted" players Mata looks a bargain. £30 million was being quoted for 28 year old Rooney. Is it Michael Emenalo who lacks negotiating skills?
ReplyDeletehttp://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gE8BcezFxT0 great video to say goodbye to such a gentleman and talent Juan Mata. Would of preferred him to go to PSG but there we go. Thank you Juan for being a rare kind of footballer respectful gentleman.
ReplyDeleteJose have to be careful, or the gulags will find out what he is up to, next he will froze either oscar or hazard and sell them to united, its all is fergie-jose masterplan, moyes is just stop_gap whipping boy until everything is in place..don't be shock if jose resign as the cfc boss in 2016..cos cfc, lfc, city or afc can't give him what he one, only as a united legend he can get the knighthood and the title Sir jose mourinho
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mik and I love my team. However I do feel sorry for the Chelsea fans as Jaun was a loved footballer and has not done much wrong in my mind.
ReplyDeleteLets face it...jose never gave him a fair chance and i think for mata it is a great move for him only for playing every game and helping his world cup hopes.
Manchester Utd are very lucky to pull of this coup and I am still mystified how Jose has let this happen. man city in my mind will win the league though id rather see Chelsea win it, but i cant see how Mata would upset the rivals by forcing this move to United.
United will in a year or two become a massive force. lets not all join this childish bandwagon and seriously think United will end up like Leeds or Nottingham Forest or even Liverpool. The reds are huge globally.
Do Chelsea want to see Mata who can be a legend at United like Scholes, Ronaldo or Nistlerooy be playing against them at stages over the next few years. i say NO.
I doubt the Chelsea fans wold hate to see Juan Mata assisting a new united team strike force in years to come with match winners in all competitions.
I still think Jose is the right man for teh Blues and probably knows what he is doing. I just sympathize for the fans who have worked hard to support and get back the respect from a great player to then just see him vanish into thin air.
