Despite Jose Mourinho's insistence that Chelsea are not looking to sign a striker in this transfer window, the press continue to state that they believe that he IS looking to sign someone. Mario Balotelli is one of the latest big names to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
I know the window is open and 95% of these stories are fabricated by the press to sell copy of their newspapers. Just the other day Jose Mourinho stated "Now is the time for agents to become famous" and I totally agree with him.
In light of this report linking Chelsea with a move for AC Milan's Mario Balotelli, I have to say that my initial reaction was "rubbish". Then thinking about it even more, it's almost impossible based on the relationship Jose had with the player.
Looking from the outside in, Balotelli never properly adjusted to life in England and the Premier League. Of course his well documented bust-ups with Roberto Mancini didn't help, but to me he never really settled here and so jumped at the chance to go back to Milan.
The article states that the player is not happy with the way things are going with AC Milan and is looking for a return to the Premier League and Chelsea is reported to be his "preferred" destination.
I'm sorry, I personally do not see anything of substance in this report and this is dead in the water.
What do you think Chelsea fans?
