A fantastic talent but rumoured to not be one of the best trainers at the club. Asked to become much more of a team player and left out after a previous indiscretion earlier in the season, Eden Hazard has turned things around and has become one of the best players in the Premier League!
If there has been one argument about Hazard it's been the fact that he hasn't gained a level of consistency in his game previously. He would be fantastic in one game and then at a different level the next and being honest, that's how you would have described the Belgian.
Under Jose Mourinho with some bumps along the way, we are finally seeing that consistency we had been looking for. With three goals in four games and in each of those games being named as man of the match, Hazard is showing everyone just what he is more than capable of doing on a regular basis.
The disturbing thing about all this is that his form in recent weeks hasn't gone un-noticed with reports linking him to a move to PSG next summer. There had even being a "reported" quote from Hazard stating that he will be moving back to France!
Of course this has been played down by Jose Mourinho as pure speculation. Mourinho has even stated that the player is now worth as much as three times the amount Chelsea paid Lille for him in the summer of 2013 (£32m).
Mourinho stated after Hazard scored the first of our two goals at Hull:
"He is playing very well for a long time. The club made a big investment in him last year because they trust him a lot. He is more than just a talented kid now. He feels and accepts the responsibility, accepts that a team player is more than a talented player.
Without losing his fantastic ability he is giving us other things. The kid is in a very good moment of his career with three consecutive man of the matches. Let's see if the Barclays Premier League decide to give him a player of the month, because the kid is waiting and the trophy is not arriving. Maybe they don't like to go to Cobham!"
His ability with the ball at his feet is frightening. He is so quick and has fantastic reactions to see a tackle coming and to skip away from it. He also uses his body well to shield the ball from defenders. It would be good to see a statistic of just how many times he has been fouled in the Premier League ever since he came here.
Hazard is a player I like to call "glue-boots" because the ball seems to stick to his feet and when he runs with the ball he very rarely knocks the ball ten or fifteen yards ahead of him to chase it down. It's his close control that draws defenders into making rash tackles and plays into the hands of our Belgian winger.
We all know how good he is and just how good he can be. People talk of the Ronaldo's and Messi's of this world and rightly so, because they do it week in, week out.
If Eden Hazard continues to perform on a much more consistent basis, surely given time, he would have to be considered the same!
What do you people think of the Eden Hazard we are watching now to the player we saw when he first joined the club and last season?
Carefree & KTBFFH!
