Now with any transfer window, there are and will be numerous rumours linking Chelsea with player moves in and out of Stamford Bridge. David Luiz is the subject of intense speculation once again!
We know that Barcelona made an official approach for Luiz and he turned down a move to the Catalan side in favour of staying in West London but with the situation for Luiz the same as plenty of others who are in and out of the starting eleven, I just wonder if Luiz would turn them down a second time.
This report has stated that the Spanish Champions are looking to make another attempt to sign him, However it's not just Barcelona who are interested!
Pep Guardiola has been an admirer of Luiz from his time at Barcelona and has reportedly followed his progress for a number of years. Now more than ever with Luiz in and out of the Chelsea team, it seems as though Guardiola is also looking to make a move to try and lure the Brazilian away from London and to Germany.
This report states that the German club is willing to offer a substantial amount of money to Chelsea and if a huge offer is made, Chelsea would be willing to do business!
As I have stated, there will be plenty of rumour and speculation about our current players and potential moves into Chelsea right up until the end of the January transfer window but, with the current situation of squad rotation at Stamford Bridge and players not getting the game time they had hoped in World Cup year, I just wonder if there is real substance in what we are reading at the moment?
In my opinion, Luiz is such an asset to Chelsea and he is someone we MUST keep hold of. If we are to make a realistic challenge for silverware then we have to keep hold of our best players.
Luiz offers Mourinho the option of playing in midfield and defence, he is only 26 and despite the odd mistake here and there, reads the game better than most.
His ability with the ball at his feet is outstanding and he has demonstrated time and time again his range of passing that can turn defence into attack.
I really, really hope that Luiz stays at Chelsea if these reports ARE true. What do you people think of these latest rumours and his current situation at Chelsea?
