With news that David Luiz is back into the Chelsea squad for tonight's game against Steaua Bucharest, I just wondered if YOU believe that after our defensive problems in recent weeks, he should walk straight back into the side?
The problem I think anyone will tell you with Gary Cahill and John Terry playing together, is a lack of pace. Both are fairly quick but not as quick in my opinion as David Luiz.
As you can see from the video above, Luiz reads the game brilliantly but before any of you comment and talk of Luiz playing in the middle of midfield, Jose has already quashed that theory in his press conference yesterday.
OK, we know at times Luiz can make a mistake or two in a game. We know he could take a gamble to get ahead of his opponent to win the ball and at times he leaves himself and our defence exposed.
I just think that we are quicker at the back with Luiz playing alongside Cahill or Terry. With (hopefully) Ashley Cole and Cesar Azpilicueta alongside Luiz and possibly Gary Cahill tonight, we should have a better balance to the back four tonight.
What do you people think about David Luiz now? We keep seeing him being linked with a move away to the likes of Barcelona or Bayern Munich whether it's next month or next summer!
I used to have the opinion that by playing Gary Cahill and John Terry together, Chelsea would have a much more solid foundation to build from. After recent weeks, we are all doubting that to be the case.
Should David Luiz be considered as a regular starter now in Chelsea's back four under Jose Mourinho?
