Any Chelsea fan will tell you that even though we are right up there near the top of the Premier League, our form has been stop start for most of the season. For one reason or another, Chelsea haven't really got started.
The thing is, we know with the players we have and the quality throughout the squad, at some stage everything will click into place and someone out there will get thumped five or six! However, I cannot see that being the case tonight.
I agree with the manager when he says that at times, we are playing some fantastic football. Our approach play can be excellent and we have the opposition on the back foot but we seem to get in and around the final third and everything slows down and the momentum stops!
This evening at The Emirates, I want to see Chelsea counter attack Arsenal at high tempo. We need to get that ball forward as quickly as possible to expose the massive gap between Arsenal's defence and midfield. If we can get our attacking three players the ball early enough, we can catch them out of position and create chances.
This is without question the biggest game of the season and during the busiest period. Chelsea must start well and get their foot on the ball and dominate Arsenal. We need to use the wings as quickly as possible and feed Eden Hazard at every single opportunity.
We know that Cech will be in goal with Cesar Azpilicueta, Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry in front of him. As Mourinho stated, he has to decide between Gary Cahill and David Luiz for the remaining defensive position so it will be interesting to see who he goes with.
I am assuming that Arsene Wenger will play Theo Walcott from the start and that could have a bearing on his thinking. I wouldn't say that Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey have pace to burn like Walcott. I expect a surprise from their manager with both Flamini AND Arteta starting with the three of Walcott, Ozil and Ramsey in behind Giroud.
Because of Walcott's pace, I believe David Luiz will get the nod ahead of Gary Cahill. I could be wrong but that's my opinion.
It's also interesting to see Jose selection as the deeper midfielders. Ramires is a nailed on starter and with it being Arsenal, I believe Mikel will sit and screen in front of the back four.
As stated previously, Eden Hazard will also start this one on the left hand side and I believe Oscar will also start. Now whether or not Oscar will start through the middle or on the right to allow Juan Mata to play, we can only hope!
Andre Schurrle could be handed another opportunity to start but will face competition from Willian. I guess it simply comes down to whether or not Juan Mata is in his thinking!
Fernando Torres to start this one for me all day long ahead of Demba Ba and Samuel Eto'o.
This is a winnable game for Chelsea, we just need to get out there and perform!
Come on Chelsea!
Carefree & KTBFFH!
