Who cares if Sir Alex Ferguson snubbed Chelsea?

Headlines have been made recently over the comments made on US TV by Sir Alex Ferguson. Speaking of the Wayne Rooney situation and the pressure David Moyes is already under at Old Trafford, Fergie also revealed that Chelsea approached him to take over when Roman first took over. He said:

“They used an agent to approach me when Abramovich first took over the club.  I said, ‘No chance, Manchester is my team, my club’. I always come back to this point – why would you leave?”

It's interesting as to why Fergie has revealed this information now bearing in mind it happened ten years ago! How many chances did he have in the build up to big games etc to do it?

We can all sit here and try and imagine what it would have been like if he accepted the offer but the facts are that he didn't!

Despite the ridiculous turnover of managers at Stamford Bridge since Roman Abramovich took over, Chelsea have won it all now and have turned back to Jose Mourinho with a different long term aim similar to that of Fergie at United.

So if you ask me, who cares if Fergie turned Chelsea down?
