Robert Lewandowski will come under intense scrutiny tonight as he leads the Polish attack against England at Wembley because of comments he has made this week regarding his future.
As we all know, it's been believed that Lewandowski has signed a pre contract agreement to sign for Bayern Munich when his contract at Dortmund expires at the end of the current season.
The player himself was quick to play down this reported agreement and revealed his admiration for the Premier League fuelling further speculation of a move to England instead.
He said:
'I will be able to sign a contract (with any club) in January, but I have never said that I will sign a contract with Bayern.
It was a misunderstanding. It is true I had an opportunity to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson (last year), but we didn't mention the transfer.
One day I would like to play in Premier League. It would be a great experience.'(Source)
So, he hasn't signed anything with Bayern and has said that one day he wants to play over here?
In addition, he is only 25 and his contract expires in the summer and he has already said he WILL be leaving Dortmund.
Talk about being in a strong position!
It's interesting to see what happens here because think about it, if Dortmund are happy to let him wind his contract down to say goodbye then fair enough but you have to admit, these days it's rare that we see clubs allow that to happen.
What if someone comes in with a bid in January? Do you think Dortmund would sell?
Jose Mourinho has first hand knowledge of just how good Lewandowski is after watching him score four goals past his Madrid side last season. I just wonder if Mourinho has Lewandowski in mind as a potential target in January or next summer?
Carefree & KTBFFH!
