As with most international breaks, there is plenty of comments being made by players away with their international teams that feed rumour and speculation as a result. Sami Khedira has blasted the treatment he has received at Madrid this season so far and is now being linked with Chelsea and others.
He said:
'I’m not a Spanish player, I did not cost a lot of money and I am one of Mourinho’s disciples.
I started the season on the bench or in the stands. Even if I play well, I am the scapegoat and so will not be properly valued.
We are not playing well. Most of the time we are over-complicating with too much individualism.
I don’t know if it is just a matter of time or if there is another problem but we are still not playing like a team.'(Source)
It's true! Khedira was one of Mourinho's most trusted players and featured in pretty much all of the games under his management so it's clear that Jose likes him. Is that enough for him to be linked with a move to Chelsea now? I am not so sure.
Only yesterday, I featured the rumour and speculation that is going around at the moment regarding Paul Pogba and both are similar players who ply their trade in midfield.
One thing seems certain, If Khedira remains a bit part player under Ancelotti, expect him being linked with a January move away from Madrid! If he does become available, there will be plenty of big clubs interested in his services for the right price.
Should that be Jose Mourinho and Chelsea?
