Jose Mourinho has enjoyed an encouraging first month back at Chelsea, although there is more to come from his side.
The Blues have won two and drawn one of their opening three Premier League fixtures, while they came agonisingly close to giving the "Special One" his first piece of silverware in his second coming. They were seconds from victory in extra time in the Uefa Super Cup against Bayern Munich before losing on penalties.
BetVictor has Chelsea as 9/4 second favourites for the league title and it is easy to see why. Mourinho inherited a strong squad and has added quality to it in the form of Andre Schurrle, Willian and Samuel Eto'o, with Kevin De Bruyne also akin to a new signing.
Chelsea have Premier League experience in abundance through the spine of the side in Petr Cech, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres, although the latter struggles with form these days.
Mourinho has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal in attacking midfield in the likes of Oscar, Schurrle and Eden Hazard. Juan Mata has been surprisingly out of favour in the opening month but will surely have a major impact as the campaign evolves.
The area where Chelsea may struggle is up top. Eto'o, Torres and Demba Ba are good strikers but there is a question mark over whether they fit into Mourinho's system. They could all struggle to get regular game time.
With so much talent in attacking areas, it would be a real shame to see Chelsea grinding out 1-0 wins every week.
In Mourinho's first spell in charge, the Blues' success was down in no small part to an almost impenetrable backline. He would argue that style won him six trophies but the counter-argument could be his current side could enjoy similar success playing free-flowing football.
No matter which style Mourinho's side adopt, it is difficult to imagine Chelsea ending the season empty handed.
