Breaking news today regarding Wayne Rooney. Chelsea have had a reported SECOND transfer bid of around £25-30m rejected once again by Manchester United! The question we have to ask is whether or not Rooney himself will now force a move away from Old Trafford by handing in an official transfer request?
As yet, we haven't heard a word from Rooney or any of his representatives about the official interest from Chelsea and two bids being rejected. If you want to believe the media, Rooney is unhappy and wants to leave and sees his future elsewhere. However, as I have said before, this is all hearsay until we have something from Rooney.
I believe that could all be about to change. There is no point keeping someone at your football club if they do not want to be there. All it will do is cause disruption within the squad and with the money United have, they could quite easily go out and replace him.
We all wondered what would happen after the first Chelsea bid was rejected. We have seen that the Rooney camp remains quiet but surely a move to Chelsea would be "of interest" to Rooney, especially in World Cup year.
Now, with a second bid made and Chelsea's intentions more than clear, I just wonder if in the coming days we will finally hear from Rooney whether it is through the media or by an official transfer request handed in to David Moyes. Whether or not United accept it is another thing.
One thing is for sure, Chelsea have shown Wayne Rooney a desire to bring him to Stamford Bridge and to play a big part in the Jose Mourinho's plans for the season ahead.
We all know that is something he has NOT been offered in Manchester!
Mr Rooney, it's now over to you!
