Now it's official and we know that Chelsea want to sign Wayne Rooney, I want to try and get some discussion going on here to find out what YOU, the Chelsea fan reading this, thinks of Rooney and whether or not you personally believe that he is someone Chelsea should be looking to sign.
If possible, I would ask you elaborate your reasoning for your opinion whether you are all for Rooney possibly signing for Chelsea or if you are against it.
Let's have a look at the pro's and con's for signing Rooney starting with the pro's first.
Wayne Rooney is world class in my mind and at 27 is the perfect age for someone like him to join Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
A hunger for the game, bags of ability and most importantly of all goals in his locker, Rooney has it all and has proven himself at Old Trafford.
Rooney can play anywhere across the forward line, behind the main striker or even out wide. When he is on form he has the ability to create something out of nothing, a chance for himself or someone else and would be a real asset to our football club.
As we all know, Chelsea lacked competition for places up front and suffered because of it. Would having Wayne Rooney at Chelsea push people like Fernando Torres and Lukaku on a step further? I believe it would and at the end of the day that can only be better for us!
The Con's?
Temperament is one without question. We all see how quickly Rooney becomes rattled and loses control in games. It's something that he would have to calm down in his game when he works with Mourinho.
Form. People are saying that Rooney is passed his best now and he isn't the same player he used to be. Are you one of those people? Why do you think that? What it is you have seen in Rooney that makes you believe that he IS passed his best?
Wages. Rooney is on a ridiculous amount of money at United. If he comes to Chelsea and they match his wages, what could that do to the harmony of our current squad knowing that Chelsea were paying that much a week to bring him here?
It's all speculation at the moment as we know a bid has been rejected by United. I predict Rooney will hand in a formal transfer request within days and Chelsea will up their offer. It's then down to United to decide whether to sell him to us.
So Chelsea fans, Wayne Rooney to Chelsea - Yes or No?
Carefree & KTBFFH!
