OFFICIAL - Andre Schurrle Joins Chelsea

It's been announced this morning that our long (and overly-drawn-out) pursuit of German International Andre Schurrle has come to an end, with the clubs reportedly agreeing to a transfer, pending a medical. It’s suggested that the agreed fee ranges somewhere around €23 million.

I personally cannot attest to the young German’s talents, as I really haven’t ever seen him play, other than some YouTube compilations (which for me, aren’t worth a grain of salt – There’s even some out there that make Andy Carroll look stellar). I have, however, heard he’s incredibly pacey, and a natural winger, which is one area I think we needed strengthening. He’s also still quite young at only 22 years old, which fits the profile of the club’s attempts to build for the future. Honestly, most of what I’ve been hearing about the young man is quite positive. However, I’m interested to hear what the general Chelsea community thinks about Mourinho’s (second) first signing as our manager.
