The UEFA Europa League draw has been concluded and Chelsea have been drawn away to FC Basel with the first leg on Thursday 25th April followed by the second leg on Thursday 2nd May.
Chelsea have avoided a midweek trip to Turkey or Portugal and in fairness have a possible glamour tie in the final as long as we get there.
So what do you people think about the draw and Chelsea taking on FC Basel? They look a good side but beatable in my opinion. Chelsea, will a fully fit and strong side should see there way past them over two games!
The problem we have now is the fixture list once again. Our fixtures for April into May with the confirmed games and dates for the Europa League included now looks as follows:
Sunday 14th April - Manchester City at Wembley (FA Cup)
Wednesday 17th April - Fulham Away (Premier League)
Sunday 21st April - Liverpool Away (Premier League)
Thursday 25th April - FC Basel Away (Europa League)
Sunday 28th April (TBC) - Swansea Home (Premier League)
Thursday 2nd May - FC Basel Home (Europa League)
Sunday 5th May - Manchester United Away (Premier League)
**Saturday 11th May - Aston Villa Away (Premier League)
Sunday 19th May - Everton Home (Premier League)
**Dependant on the FA Cup Semi Final, Chelsea could also have the Final date to consider which is Saturday 11th May. If Chelsea reach the final, the Aston Villa away game will need to be re-arranged**
**Dependant on what happens against FC Basel, The Europa League final is Wednesday 15th May**
**Tottenham at Home (Premier League) is also TBC**
That's some fixture list and if anything, Rafa will have no choice but to rotate his squad to cope. Like I have said before, Chelsea must finish in the top four BUT with two semi final legs of the Europa League to consider, it will be difficult!
What do you people think of the draw and of our updated fixture list?
