...on loan to a club in European competition next season!

As per a report in the written press this morning here, Romelu Lukaku is rumoured to have asked Chelsea to spend another season on loan next season but to a club that is involved in European football and Swansea are rumoured to be interested!.

Now, I just wonder what YOU the Chelsea fan thinks of this development if it's true? Surely he has done enough to command a start at Chelsea or to be considered at least?

His performances so far this season for West Brom have been good and I will admit he has surprised me in the fact that he has settled into regular first team action in the Premier League so quickly! If anything, Lukaku is the yardstick that we should consider for other people like McEachran and Chalobah if we are to consider loaning them out again next term. Give them a shot in the Premier League with someone if it's not going to be Chelsea!

Anyway, I digress. The issue here is why Lukaku feels as though he would spend the season for the most part on the bench next term?

Surely he deserves a chance now? Surely he would provide us with a similar option up front to that of Didier Drogba. His muscular presence and strength would provide us with an alternative to Demba Ba and Fernando Torres?

On the flip side, I just wonder if a deal to bring in someone like Falcao has already been agreed and he knows that he wouldn't get much of a chance next term?

What do you people think about all this? Should we keep him next season or allow him to leave on loan again and continue his already impressive development?

Carefree & KTBFFH!

  1. If the club sees him as Chelsea's future CF, then a loan move to a club playing european football is exactly what he needs, that's the only way we-ll find out if he can handle the number of games he'll be required to play.
