After reports that a provisional deal had been agreed for his return to Stamford Bridge, a report stating that he had already negotiated his exit from Madrid during their stay in Istanbul last week to take on Galatasary, it seems that Jose Mourinho could be about to perform a U-turn and turn his back on Chelsea after all.
According to press reports in the last couple of days, Mourinho could yet decide to see out his current contract at Madrid before he decided to return to the Premier League. If this news is true, it would be a massive blow as far as I am concerned.
If it is the case, who do the club turn to? Three names come to mind straight away such as Guus Hiddink, Manuel Pellegrini and David Moyes.
Guus Hiddink returning to the club as a full time manager would soften the Mourinho blow for me as Hiddink is the next best option. His fantastic record here previously would hold him in favour with Abramovich and the Chelsea board and most importantly of all, the supporters.
I have stated before that I would like to see David Moyes given the opportunity based on what he has achieved with hardly any money at Everton. Season in, season out, the Everton side gets better and better and you can see that he is a good man manager in addition to being good tactically.
As for Pellegrini? I am not so sure. He has done well with Malaga but his performance at Madrid as their manager didn't impress and I wonder if we could end up with another AVB situation on our hands?
For me it Mourinho all day long but if he doesn't decide to come back, then it has to be Guus Hiddink.
What do you people think if this is in fact true that Mourinho wants to stay and see his contract out in Spain?
