LAMPARD: MEGA DEAL OFFERED !

It's hard to imagine how Frank Lampard was feeling sitting on the bench yesterday. After everything he has done for our Football Club, the big games he has played in and the integral part he has played in the most successful period of our history, to sit there and watch as Chelsea took on Manchester City must have been heartbreaking.

What's possibly made it ten times worse is the fact that although he was sent out to warm up a number of times, he was never called upon and watched Chelsea lose!.

So where does that leave Lampard now? Some would argue that the Premier League is the be all and end all of our season. Top four is a must and to save him for the game at Fulham on Wednesday is the priority. Liverpool at Anfield follows next but with Rafa's squad rotation policy, there is no guarantee that he would be playing there either!.

Now, according to this media report that has appeared this afternoon, LA Galaxy have stepped up their attempt to persuade Lampard to move to the MLS. An initial reported offer of £5m per season for two seasons had been on offer but this is now £6m per season.

The same article has also stated that as a result, Lampard has postponed his wedding that was due to take place in June because if he does sign for the Galaxy, he could be playing football that month.

There are all sorts of reports and stories that appear in the media every day. Some of them are just total rubbish as we know but some of them have some substance. I believe that this one could have substance and it looks now more than ever that Frank Lampard is not going to be offered a new contract by Chelsea.

I just hope Lampard is given the chance to break Bobby Tambling's record at Chelsea before he goes but judging by Rafa's team selections, you just never know!
