Team News

Fresh from our adventures in Russia on Thursday night, Chelsea will be waiting on the fitness of Ashley Cole and Ryan Bertrand ahead of this one. Cole is back in training but a major doubt for the game and we have everything crossed in the hope that Ryan Bertrand recovers from illness to start against City.

The good thing as far as Chelsea is concerned is that Ivanovic, Mikel, Mata, Hazard, Oscar and Ba were all rested with Oscar playing very little on Thursday so should be raring to go!.

Form

Chelsea's form apart from Thursday had been good. A win against United followed by victory against Kazan in the first leg of our Europa League quarter final and a win over Sunderland, all in the space of a week, had put us back on the good foot this week. It will be interesting to see how the players react to the defeat and travelling backwards and forwards to Russia compared to City who have had six days to prepare!

Head-to-head

This game is the fourth time Chelsea have faced Manchester City this season and we have not won at all. We lost 4-2 in the Community Shield, Drew 0-0 at Stamford Bridge and then lost in the most recent game at Eastlands 2-0.
