Bruce Buck has been featured today speaking about Chelsea's ruthless policy in recent seasons with the managers of the football club. When asked about the sackings of the likes of Scolari, Ancelotti, Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo, Buck said:
"I know we have fired what most people would say are a lot of managers - terminated their relationship is a better way to describe it - but we've always thought long and hard when we've done it.
We certainly believe in stability in managers but it has to be with the right manager and every time our relationship with a manager is terminated we think it's for good reason. It's generally worked out well when we've brought in a new manager and I guess the proof is in the pudding in that over the last 10 years we've pretty much had a trophy every single year. We always look forward to figure out how we're going and how we're going to get there."
Buck was then asked about the situation with the appointment of a new manager for next season and if that search has begun and responded by saying:
"We're really trying to get top three or top four place in the Premier League so we get in the Champions League next year. That's really important for us and of course we're still in two big competitions - Europa League and FA cup - so I think the real search for a new manager will begin once the season ends in the middle of May."
Buck was then asked if anyone was ruled out of the running for the job next season including previous managers of the football club he said:
I am completely open minded about it.

Interesting comments from Buck and he's right, for the most part we have been successful most seasons and you cannot argue with the record the club has since Roman Abramovich took over. We may not agree with their decisions at the time but it has worked out for the club with what happened last season being a perfect example as Roberto Di Matteo, taking over from AVB who was sacked with three months of the season remaining, won the FA Cup and Champions League!

As for the future, it's interesting to see Buck state on record that he is keeping an open mind to the new appointment and has not ruled out anyone who has managed here before!

Carefree & KTBFFH!
