Arsene Wenger held his normal press conference yesterday ahead of their fixture this weekend and everything was pretty much par for the course until he spoke of Chelsea and "our intentions" this summer and despite the rumour that Wenger has a huge amount of money at his disposal, he stated that he was worried about us.

He said:
"I'm afraid of what Chelsea can do in the summer. We have to be prepared for them to be one of the biggest movers in terms of investment once the window opens.
Even though they already have a great base to their squad, notably their young players such as Oscar, Juan Mata, Ramires and Eden Hazard, I think they will be busy during the transfer window. We've heard a lot of talk about Falcao. Some people say it's already a done deal but I've heard nothing."

Is Arsene Wenger right to be afraid of us? Does that give everyone an indication that although these rumours about the amount he has to spend continue to persist, he doesn't look like he will be spending big money once again this year?

One thing we can all agree on is the players we have here for next season. A new core is being established and has been put together over the last few seasons. We now have Cech, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Ivanovic, Luiz, Ramires, Mikel, Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Moses and Torres. In addition we have the likes of Ashley Cole, John Terry and Frank Lampard along with Demba Ba.

If Roman Abramovich went out again and spent big this summer on the likes of Radamel Falcao and re-signed Jose Mourinho as manager, I would imagine the whole Premier League would be wary of Chelsea.

Think about it, the likes of Hazard, Oscar and Azpilicueta will all be better next season after having a years experience of Premier League football and that can only be good for the club.

Chelsea have had a rough couple of seasons in the Premier League but slowly and surely, Roman Abramovich has been putting together the the basis of a talented and young side. If we can just get Jose Mourinho back, Roman Abramovich's new era would really take shape!

Is Wenger right to be worried about Chelsea next season? If not, why not?
