We are fast approaching the point of reflection for the season and with nothing to play for in the U18's and U21's leagues the whole of the Academy focus once again turns to an FA Youth Cup final.

Having comfortably dispatched Liverpool in the Semi final highlights below, it is Norwich who all stand between us and back to back youth cup titles.

Confidence will be high among the team and we will be looking to our key players to carry us through. The influence of Lewis Baker has proved to be a key, dictating play from a deeper role but able to get forward too when Baker is on top of his game Chelsea will play their best football.

Our attacking threat of Boga who has the ability to make the football stick to his feet, Kiwomya whose pace has caused teams nightmares and Feruz who is a deadly striker who just wants to score goals, these are the ones that Nowich will need to stifle if they are to have a chance.

It is not all about attack with this team however in Beeney, Ake and Davey we have a very strong and talented defence that has proved very hard to break down.

Elsewhere Everton are the opponents at league level. The U21's played out an away draw with no goals and team mixed with experience of the likes of Blackman, Lalkovic, Pappoe and Ake and youth with the likes of Hunte, Swift and Dabo. The U18's will also play Everton today away with a team that will likely be very young with the Youth Cup coming up on Monday.

There was also a victory for the U18's this week when they played Bolton away from home midweek. The game finished 1 - 0 and Islam Feruz after some very good work by Lewis Baker. It was a game where a lot of the youth cup team were given a run out in the league which is unusual for most of the team but it was needed to be able to keep them fresh.

The U21's will be playing their final game of the season on Monday at home to Blackburn Rovers which be played at Cobham 11:00am in the morning, again due to the Youth Cup being played in the same evening then it will be a very mixed squad. The U18's still have a few games left to play in the league but will be playing their last game on the 10th May.

So whilst there are still some games to be played in the league at U18's and U21's level with nothing to play for the hope of another big success for the academy comes down to the away leg on Monday and the home leg 2 weeks later.

In other news this week Todd Kane currently on loan at Blackburn Rovers has extended his contract with us for a further 3 years. This is good news for Todd who has impressed whilst at Blackburn and will be looking to push on again next season.
