Rafa Benitez must have a dilemma on his hands this week as we head into three games before we play another Premier League game again. We play Sparta Prague home and away with our FA Cup replay (still can't believe I am saying that) against Brentford at Stamford Bridge sandwiched in between.
The problem is that just the other week, Benitez was moaning that his squad wasn't strong enough and he didn't have enough players so how is he going to deal with both these competitions when it's now become obvious that finishing in the top four is the priority this season?
Without question, we cannot afford to rest players in the Premier League now. Does that mean we should risk these players in the Europa League and FA Cup because Rafa keeps banging on about winning a trophy this season?
What do you people think here? Should we try and win the Europa League and FA Cup in addition to focusing our efforts on finishing inside the top three or four? Or do you think the Europa League could have a negative effect on our Premier League games?
Think about it, we play Sparta at home next Thursday evening and then face Manchester City at Eastlands in the lunchtime kick off on the Sunday.
If you ask me I wouldn't bother with the Europa League. It's a competition the club hasn't won and I accept that but I would stick with the FA Cup and Premier League as the priority and rotate players in the Europa to see how we get on.
What do you people think?
