RAFA'S BUST UP WITH THE PLAYERS?

Reports have surfaced late last night that Rafa Benitez and some members of the Chelsea squad had a heated exchange at Cobham on Monday after the team lost 2-0 at Manchester City.

Everyone has an opinion as to why and I have provided a detailed analysis providing evidence of the failings of Benitez giving example of NINE games when the decisions he has made has cost us.

However, it seems according to one report here in The Guardian, Benitez has questioned the application of the team at certain points in the game on Sunday and he received a reminder from one or two of the quality and proven record we the same squad has here.

The article states the following:

Benítez summoned his squad together prior to training on one of the pitches at Cobham and conducted his post-mortem on the loss at City, underlining his disappointment in the performance and questioning the team's application at points in the game. The Spaniard is well aware that the likes of Carlo Ancelotti and Andre Villas-Boas have lost their jobs at the club due to the players' perceived under-achievement and was dismayed at the display against the Premier League champions.

His speech is understood to have been geared primarily towards putting matters right for the League run-in and Wednesday's FA Cup fifth round tie at Middlesbrough. However, his words prompted a debate in front of the group with two or three senior players who were keen to point out the spine of the current team won the European Cup last season.

John Terry, who was again left on the bench at City having started only one league game since 11 November due to knee problems, is believed to have spoken up for the players, with talk quickly turning to ideas for tactical tweaks or changes to training that might eke more from the side. The squad subsequently trained as normal.

When things are going against you, you need everyone to pull together, to work together with everyone moving forward in the right direction. You need everyone to buy into your methods as the manager and if you don't have that there is a huge problem.

If Chelsea don't get the right result against Middlesborough tomorrow night and then West Brom at home on Saturday, I wouldn't expect Benitez to be here any longer.

It's the beginning of the end of Benitez if you ask me!
