I thought that it wouldn't take long for something like this to happen after Florent Malouda was banished from the first team to train instead with the under 21's and reserves.
He has kept his council up till now ever since the summer but has spoken to a Newspaper recently and has threatened to expose the details of his treatment by the club when his contract expires at the end of the season when he is "free".
Quoted in France-Guyane he said:
“If you’re excluded for a whole year, it’s very, very long. You have to be ready mentally. All of this is being done to break me mentally. In reality, it motivates me hugely.
The details, I’m going to expose when I’m free, but the strategy employed is to make me look like a player who is seeking substantial remuneration. It’s petty, but it makes me smile more than anything else because it shows how much esteem those people have for me.
Naturally, I have a duty of confidentiality. I’ve respected that up to now, and so I’ll continue to do so.”I have to say that it would be interesting to see what happens and what he says about his treatment at the club since last season finished.
Malouda caused himself a problem with the club last summer talking up a move away to finish his career in Brazil. From what I remember, RDM spoke openly to the media and said that he wanted to have a chat with Malouda when everyone returned from their holidays to pre season training to get an idea of where his head was at. We can only take it from what has happened to him since that meeting, that he indicated he wanted to leave!
You can't blame the club for taking a stance with someone who doesn't want to play for you anymore and if anything we all expected Malouda to move away before the transfer window closed at the end of August. That never happened and he is still here now.
The press and media will jump on this now and will build this up until he comes out and speaks openly about the situation. So expect Chelsea's name to be dragged through the mud once again without looking at the facts about Malouda and his intention to leave the club before all this happened.
As for Malouda, he has had one good season for us ever since he has been here and that was the double winning season under Ancelotti. Before and after that time his form had been up and down and he was in and out of the side.
Now we have Eden Hazard and I know who I would want to play down our left hand side!
Let's wait and see what Malouda has to expose in the summer!

Can't agree, I feel that its the behaviour of the club towards their contracted players that in part has undermined the spirit and commitment required to win. Last season it was Anelka and Alex that we encouraged to leave, this season its been Malouda. The club buys, sells and discards players because it can, it causes unrest, disharmony and ensures the senior players are looking over their shoulder. We expect players to be committed, but show contempt in return.
