It was a weird day as far as Frank Lampard was concerned in my opinion. I was pleased to see him start the game yesterday even though some people thought he would be better off being rested for Thursday and Spara Prague in the Europa League. I personally was happy that he played and now hope he is given a rest against Sparta ahead of Manchester City on Sunday.
It was weird in the fact that as he walked off the pitch after being substituted late on by Ryan Bertand (in yet another confusing decision by Rafa Benitez), he knew he could of scored FOUR goals and not just the one he did manage to score in the second half.
In the first half, Lampard could of had a hat trick and he would have been level with Bobby Tambling and I just hope that he keeps on doing what he has been doing and to not let the "pressure" of catching Tambling get to him.
On any other day, Lampard would have buried all those chances and we would be sitting here raving about him and the record but for now we need to sit tight and just let Frank let his football do the talking.
I do want to add that it was strange to see Frank being taken off when it was arguably a great chance for him to score a second and reach 200 goals for Chelsea!

I think you are more obsessed about Lampard reaching that goal than you should be! Even when most believe he should be rested, the manager used him, and after failing to net 4 goals (like you said), you are still not happy he was not left on the pitch to get another goal. This is Chelsea fc not Lampard fc! Imagine what Terry has said for that matter! That's someone who is really not selfish, stating that the CDs are doing well & would fight for a place, while Lamps would always say "he must ALWAYS be playing" even when others were doing better!
