Today is massive for Chelsea Football Club. Forgetting Rafa Benitez and the issues he has with the group of supporters who have an "agenda" against him, He has made his position at the club untenable after attacking the board in the same rant at his press conference last night. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for Roman Abramovich and the Chelsea board to think "enough is enough now" and sack him.

In a surprising move, I couldn't believe what I was watching as he openly slated the board for giving him the "Interim" title. Talk about burn your bridges. Dan Levene the Chelsea writer for the Fulham Chronicle who was at The Riverside last night, Tweeted shortly after Rafa's press conference:

So we sit and we wait to see what happens. Will Roman and the Chelsea board act as soon as possible. The thing is, it's plain to see in our last few performances that we are not playing well at all and it takes us 45 minutes to start playing. Last night was another demonstration of that under Benitez. The first half was dire with only TWO shots on goal from Chelsea. Against City on Sunday, we had ONE!.

If Chelsea do act today then I just wonder about the significance of Avram Grant's appearance at Stamford Bridge the other week. Could Avram Grant be lined up to step in until the end of the season. Could he pick up the mess that Rafa is leaving behind (as he did at Liverpool by the way) and take us forward? Avram Grant still boasts the best record of any Chelsea manager under Abramovich with a 74% win rate.

Anything is better than what we have at the moment and in saying that, I am talking from a football standpoint here. Surely the Chelsea fans who sit there in the stands or watch us on the TV can see what I have been?

Can Avram Grant come and save our season? It wouldn't be the first time!
